Believe it or not it has been super busy!! Yes, all these things have happened between September 1st and the end of October. I have a hard time keeping up with myself!! I have decided to write this blog to help you all keep up with me!!
During the month of September, Downtown Artist Cooperative had their "DAC and Friends Show" in the River Gallery. My friend Ola of Dbo agreed to be in the show along side me. We coordinated the center two paintings, in above picture, colors and style, while using our own favorite mediums. I created this piece "I Miss You" depicting a woman with her hands in the air reaching for the moon, using alcohol inks. Ola beautifully painted a unnamed ballerina dancing in the moonlight while using acrylic paints. It was such a privilege to work with Ola in preparation for this show.
Before the DAC and Friends Show this painting had SOLD!! This Painting is called "Aliens: Area 51" and made with alcohol inks. I am so happy it has found it's forever home where it will be loved.
In preparation for the holidays I started making frames to sell. These are simple 4x6 wood frames painted with alcohol ink. I have ordered 5x7, 8x10 and 12x12 frames for the same process. My frames can be found in October at my Hudabam Booktraders Show, Journey Through Art. During November frames can be found in Nashville at the Dbo during the Art Crawl. In Clarksville at Downtown Artist Cooperative during the Holiday Bazaar November and December. In Hopkinsville during the Holiday Bazaar located in the Hopkinsville Art Guild and Gallery.
Art W/ Ink Class for September was a great group of people, some came as far as south of Nashville. We started by painting a hot air balloon on our 5x7 special paper substrate. Then we had a great time painting hearts using a resist technique on one of our 4 inch tiles together as a group. On the second 4 inch tile they were free to play with the ink and enjoy the experience and watch the movement of the ink.
I lost my biggest fan!! Roy Baur, my gramps left us September 26. I dedicated my Show Journey Through Art to him, because he always worried about "His Starving Artist."
As you all have realized by seeing my art, I love color, so why would I make such a dark painting? Visit Hudabam Booktraders, see my art and ask how you can be part of the drawing for a Free Painting. This painting will be given away during Hudabam's Open Mic: Celebrating 1 year anniversary party. October 26 at 7-9 pm. More importantly IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!! See you there this is very exciting for me!!
I was asked to submit photos to the Lens Culture Black and White Photography 2019 Contest, YUP, I did it!!!
I have entered the Black and White Photography 2019 in New York!!
These are my entries into the #lensculture black and white 2019 Which is your favorite?
Just for fun to see what happens and to get feed back on my entry. Excited!!!
I did find sometime to work on some art. I'm working on sealing my coasters with resin, just in time for the holiday Bazaar in Clarksville and Hopkinsville, after the Nashville Art Crawl next month.
I made it into the Kentucky New Era paper of Hopkinsville. This is an article about Hopkinsville Art Guild and Gallery: launching their new program: Crafting After Hours. The first Crafting After Hours was my Art W/ Ink Class.
Coming Soon: I am experimenting with making resin jewelry. I have more experimenting to do but these should be available just in time for the holidays!!
Well It has been a couple of crazy months. I will be heading to Nashville Art Crawl next month, I can't wait to see what else I do next!!
